Kayak One Star Award Training Course Kayak-1 Star 2021-01 and 2021-02 (Updated with Student name list)

To make good use of the summer break, Adventure Training Committee invites qualified coaches to hold kayak training course- elementary level in July, 2021, and to offer excellent opportunity for Corps’ members to experience different types of sports. Details are as follows:

Date

Class One 2021-01

18th July, 2021 (Sunday), or

Class Two 2021-02

20th July, 2021 (Tuesday)

(Only one class is needed to attend for each applicant. )

 

 

 

 

Time

0900 to 1800 hours

Examination

Examination will be provided in the same day, Hong Kong Canoe Union Kayak One Star Award

certificate will be issued upon completion and passing in requested test.

 

 

Venue

Hong Kong Schools Sailing Association (HKSSA)

(Main Dam, Plover Cove Reservoir, Tai Mei Tuk, Tai Po)

 

 

Target

1. Adult instructors (except Potential Instructor), or

2. Cadets (Aged 12 or above by date of event), and

3. Able to swim 50 metres without the aid of life jacket or other buoyancy

 

 

 

 

Uniform

Civilian

(Corps T-shirt or Squadron T-shirt(Cadets), HKAC Polo shirt(Instructor) , trousers and sport

 shoes. Prepare swimming wear for substitution, refer to remarks.)

Course fee

HK$60.0/person (Non-refundable)

(Administration fee, canoe logbook (HKCU) and certificate included)

 

 

Transport and meals

Self-arranged, assemble at course venue

Deadline

1700 hours, 2nd July, 2021 (Friday)

Remarks

 

 

1.

Fees and places of enrolled participants is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Participants should prepare personal gear, e.g. water bottle, sun screen and suitable wearing

(including long sleeve shirt and a pair of water sports shoes that covers toes and heels)

3.

Hong Kong Canoe Union - Kayak One Star Certificate will be awarded upon satisfactory

completion of the course and assessment.

 

 

 

4.

Health Declaration Form will be collected on the first day of training (for members aged

under 18, the form should be countersigned by parents or guardians), failure to provide

complete Health Declaration Form can result in prohibition of training.

 

 

 

 

 

5.

Class arrangement is subject to change depending on the latest situation of the epidemic and

the suspension of training. Details of the latest arrangement are available at

HKAC website ( http://hkac.org/ ).

 

 

 

 

 

6.

Cadet handbook is required when attending training course (Cadets only).

 

7.

Squadrons and units are welcome to contact Project Officer (Training) for organizing

squadron-based / unit-based Kayak training course.

 

 

 

8.

This course is eligible for the HKAYP Bronze Award or Silver Award Physical Recreation

Section activity, please contact respective UU Leader or CHQ for details.
