History/Background
The Purpose of the Hong Kong Youth Leadership Corps
The purpose of the Hong Kong Youth Leadership Corps is to help young people develop their personal character and leadership skills through military-style training, enhancing their sense of personal responsibility, self-confidence, adaptability, perseverance, resilience, and spirit of service to the community.
Vision Emerges
The government and various sectors of the community reached a consensus that it was necessary to train future leadership talent for Hong Kong.

Establishment of the Volunteer Youth Corps
The Royal Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers) Junior Leader Corps was approved and funded by the government, officially establishing the Youth Leadership Corps (Youth Corps).

First Batch of Training Commences
The objective was to provide a training environment for boys aged 14 to 17 to develop personal character, leadership skills, and a spirit of service.

Transformation Approval
In response to the 1997 handover of sovereignty and the impending disbandment of the Volunteers, the Policy Affairs Group of the Secretary for Home Affairs approved the establishment of the Hong Kong Adventure Corps, establishing its operational model as an independent charitable organization.
Incorporation
The Hong Kong Youth Leadership Corps was officially registered and incorporated as a limited company.
Charitable Status
Hong Kong Adventure Corps officially became a recognized charitable institution, and a Board of Directors was established to oversee the transition process and guide future development.
Disbandment of the Volunteer Youth Corps
With the disbandment of the Royal Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers), the original Youth Corps structure officially came to an end.

A New Era Begins
The Hong Kong Adventure Corps officially took over the role of its predecessor, continuing the excellent traditions of its outstanding instructors, strict discipline, and challenging programs.
It began using the Sai Kung Man Yee Training Camp as its training base, and the first batch of trainees commenced their training in December of the same year.
